Samsung announced its involvement in the roll out of ticketless RFID technology at live music events in the United Kingdom (UK).
Working together with Kilimanjaro Live and Intellitix, Samsung will bring the new technology to festival goers in the form of special RFID wristbands which will be read on arrival to validate visitors’ entry – promising secure access and virtually no queues.
Festival goers will be able to personalize their wristband to check in on Facebook and share their experience with their friends online, to enter competitions associated with events, or upgrade to VIP simply by flashing their wristband.
The technology will make its debut at the Red Hot Chilli Peppers’ upcoming gig at Knebworth. This will be followed by music and wake boarding festival, Wakestock, with bands just announced including Awol Nation, Yelawolf, Classified, Monster Truck and Yukon Blonde.
