Satire: ID card contract given to Facebook

Even though the UK-backed national ID card project is earning a lot of criticism, at least one Web site has found some humor in the situation. It has published a fictitious account about the contract for the ID card program being awarded to Facebook after fighting off opposition from MySpace. Thespoof.com reports that all new born children will be required to sign up at the social networking site at birth.
The aim is to have the entire British population “poking” one another by 2014.
