Schreiner ProSecure has announced that its Contactless Payment Sticker won the first-place award for “Digital Printing” in the U.S. Tag and Label Manufacturers Institute’s (TLMI) annual international competition.
Schreiner’s winning tag is an label that can be applied to cell phones or other personal items, such as key chains, bracelets or MP3 players, to conduct secure contactless payments.
According to Schreiner, the label either stores amounts of money directly on a protected chip or serves as an identification medium for database-supported transactions using various payment systems.
Schreiner says the labels can be customized in terms of size and layout, and sequential numbers, barcodes or various security features may be integrated as well. The chips used in the labels conform to ISO 14443 and the standards of the NFC forum for contactless payment functions.
The TLMI’s annual competition recognizes the world’s best products of the tag and label industry. The primary criteria for selecting products for the various TLMI awards are innovation content, technogical sophistication, functionality and visual appearance, according to Schreiner.
