The U.S. Patent and Trademark Office has issued two patents to identity technology provider SecureAuth for configuring a digital certificate’s valid duration period and for facilitating secure online transactions.
The first patent, number 8,301,877, describes a method for registering X.509 certificates that digitally sign and authenticate a user and server. The process simplifies deploying X.509 delivery and authentication across a variety of access points, including mobile, web, cloud and network access, because it securely abstracts certificate delivery of the certificate components and attributes.
The second patent, number 8,327,142, is a method for mutual authentication of clients and servers through bilateral authentication of X.509 certifications. This method simplifies the process because it doesn’t require a C-SSL exchange.
The two patented technologies are used in the company’s SecureAuth IdP authentication product. SecureAuth will demonstrate this technology at next week’s RSA Conference in San Francisco.
