Security Service Federal Credit Union to deploy Tyfone mobile wallet
Security Service Federal Credit Union (SSFCU), the eighth largest credit union in the U.S., announced that it will offer Tyfone’s mobile wallet services to its 875,000 members by the end of the year.
Tyfone’s mobile services will enable customers of the Texas-based credit union to make NFC-enabled contactless purchases using Tyfone’s u4ia mobile platform and iCashe Mobile Wallet. According to Tyfone, the roll out will also include standard mobile banking features, such as checking balance, account history review, fund transfers and bill pay, as well as a new service that lets users send and receive digital gift cards for a broad network of retailers.
“Mobile tools are rapidly evolving and becoming increasingly important to our members,” said John Worthington, SVP of corporate communications for SSFCU. “Tyfone has a unique perspective on the features and functions that are relevant to consumers as the technology matures and the reality of person-to-person payments, NFC and a suite of digital wallet services become commonplace. We are excited to begin implementation right away and to roll out the first wave of mobile services to our members this year.”
