Singapore-based start-up Taggo has just launched a new system that allows merchants to reward fans of their Facebook page for coming into the store, according to nfctimes.com.
A handful of Singapore merchants are now reportedly using the system, which requires customers to register their contactless ez-link transit cards with Taggo, so that when they enter a participating store and tap their ez-link card against a Taggo reader, Taggo’s server verifies their “fan” status on Facebook and grants them access to special discounts and offers.
These offers could include, for example, 20% off a bill at a restaurant or automatic entry into a drawing for prizes.
According to NFCTimes, customers can also register other contactless payment cards in circulation in Singapore, such as Visa payWave cards, or, in the future, their NFC-enabled phones.
