Morpho’s Indian subsidiary Smart Chip has signed an agreement with the State Bank of India to provide the bank with a biometric authentication application. Under the terms of the agreement, Smart Chip will also provide the product maintenance.
Smart Chip’s solution will incorporate fingerprints and biometric matching software in an effort to enhance the security of the bank’s internal systems. The bank intends to use the product to verify bank employee credentials before they can access its Core Banking System.
The bank will install this system throughout its entire branch system, which includes 21,000 locations.
