STUDENT CREW ANNOUNCES OFFICIAL PROGRAM COMMENCEMENT

MELBOURNE, FL September 3, 2002: Student Crew announces the launch of a student membership program that reaps the benefits of unifying retailers to the student demographic through advanced technology. Student Crew staff networks every major college and high school campus in the country to recruit a scholastic organization sales force and enroll members. Businesses surrounding campuses sign up to be a participating Crew merchant that honors discounts to the students with approved purchases. The student earns points with every purchase, the points are accumulated and stored on a member’s Crew Card which can be redeemed on the Student Crew website for trips, merchandise, long distance telephone minutes and even tuition.
The Student Crew program was designed with two objectives in mind. First, the program would help organizations raise money as an alternative method to traditional fundraisers. Second, the program provides loyalty incentives to Crew members from local and national businesses everytime a purchase is processed.
To encourage participation from merchants and students, a high-tech business module was developed that encompasses every essential function of the operation. The student Crew website offers a portal for students to log in,, search campus events, check points status, obtain access to exclusive contests and promotions, maintain an email account, create a member profile and redeem points for online shopping. Participating merchants have their own pages on the site to display their goods and services offered through the program. Training of all Student Crew representatives takes place from the website that entails a rigorous two-week course. Campus organizations can log on to their password protected areas to evaluate their performance in the program. In addition, daily operation tasks such as accounting, communications and management are all provided centrally online!
Strategic partnerships have been cultivated to ensure healthy, rapid growth in Student Crew. Student Crew has joined Blind Date in promoting national contests, auditions, travel accommodations and a Singles Get-Away Blind Date Special. Schlumberger, Ltd. and SCM provide the terminals to merchants that utilize the Smart Card technology and features. Creative Images of Brevard, Inc. developed the software backbone to process, track, and administer the Crew Card point system. They also developed the website business module and multimedia content, and created the interactive business card that the program uses to solicit corporate merchants and partnerships.
