Sycuan Casino, located 30 minutes east of downtown San Diego, is upgrading its garment inventory tracking system to InvoTech’s GIMS ultra-high frequency RFID uniform system.
With nearly 1,600 team members in eight departments changing uniforms, the GIMS RFID system will automate tracking of Sycuan Casino’s 20,000 apparel items via bulk electronic scanning, without hand counting.
The GIMS system includes Fujitsu WT-A511 ultra-high frequency RFID laundry tags provided by Fujitsu Frontech North America sewn into the casino’s apparel items. InvoTech will also install fully-automated RFID readers powered by Impinj in the hallway between the casino’s loading dock and its uniform department. InvoTech will also provide portable RFID handheld readers for the casino’s monthly physical inventory.
Clean and soiled uniforms will be pushed through the hallway in bulk. The InvoTech system detects the direction the uniforms travel and records if they are going to the laundry, or returning cleaned. This will reduce manual errors and ensure the casino has accurate reporting of appropriate par stocks in inventory.
