Balluff announced the creation of a new industrial RFID tag designed to withstand temperatures as high as 200° C (392° F), for limited exposure times.
During high-temperature exposure the tags remain inactive, therefore preserving the data within. Reading and writing data ideally takes place outside of the high temperature areas at around 70° C (158° F) or under.
The compact tag, 40 mm X 22 mm x 6.5 mm in size, is designed to be affixed to as many locations as possible and complies with the open ISO 15693 standard. Typical applications include painting and coating operations where heat sealing, oven drying, or currying may occur.
The tag enables unlimited reading and writing of data with a user memory capacity up to 112 numerical bytes or ASCII characters.
