Teijin Fibers Limited will be launching its digital smart shelf-management system incorporating Cell Form, the company’s two-dimensional data-communication sheet, ultra-high frequency (UHF) RFID reader and compatible tags.
Cell Form smart sheets placed on each shelf support the identification and management of merchandise fitted with RFID tags. The real-time solution enables inventory management and security applications, including library books, medication, and business documents, to name a few.
Using the UHF band, the digital shelf-management solution detects and transmits information about the merchandise items from the smart sheet. The system’s wireless technologies also ensure stable communication over both short and long read ranges.
Teijin’s system comprises up to eight antenna-equipped Cell Form smart sheets, a read/write module supplied by Convergence Systems Limited of Hong Kong, software, and 400 RFID IC tags.
The system is already used in a university library and an educational resource information center in Japan.
