Telit Wireless Solutions unveiled that USA Technologies selected its GC864-QUAD module to enable cellular communication in the company’s ePort EDGE Cashless Payment System, which will make its debut at CTIA Wireless 2010.
The ePort EDGE device enables unattended point-of-sale terminals such as vending machines, washers and dryers and self-service car wash stations to accept credit, debit and other forms of cashless payment.
It also gives operators the ability to remotely monitor and manage machine performance for maximum efficiency while offering consumers greater convenience.
Users may perform various tasks simultaneously, including transaction processing, data downloads, system maintenance and firmware-over-the-air updates.
Additionally, since Telit owns and controls the firmware within its modules, any changes to underlying chipsets will have minimal impact on customers’ application designs.
