Terso Solutions announced that it has expanded its line of RFID-enabled enclosures with the addition of a new refrigerator that is well-suited for hospital and laboratory inventory management.
Leveraging the power of RFID, the refrigerator enables hospitals, research labs, and manufactures and distributors to improve patient care, and better manage and protect high value products such as reagents, cardiovascular products, tissue samples, and orthopedic supplies.
The new refrigerator has a temperature range of 36 to 46 degrees Fahrenheit and has 5.5 cubic feet of storage space. RFID technology enables the refrigerator to capture inventory transactions at the item level by user, leading to greater accountability. The refrigerator monitors temperature and expiration dates, and can also trigger alarms when doors are left open.
With information from these “smart” refrigerators hospitals and organizations alike can better control materials management costs, improve regulatory compliance, eliminate paperwork and reduce stock-outs and expired products.
