ThingMagic conjures up investment agreement

RFID developer ThingMagic Inc. has secured a strategic investment and technology development agreement with In-Q-Tel, a strategic investment firm linked to the U.S. intelligence community.
With the support provided by this agreement, ThingMagic plans to expand the development of its RFID reader and sensor technology to facilitate the integration of RFID and sensors into a wider range of applications. ThingMagic’s products include fixed and embedded RFID readers and antennas, embedded and OEM RFID technology and professional services to facilitate the OEM integration of RFID. The company’s clients represent a range of industries including retail, automotive manufacturing, and industrial automation.
In-Q-Tel was launched in 1999 by the CIA. It is a independent, private investment firm that works to identify, adapt and deliver innovative technology solutions to support the U.S. intelligence community. The non-profit company identifies and partners with companies developing cutting-edge technologies that might serve U.S. national security interests.
