California-based cybercrime prevention solution provider ThreatMetrix has acquired Australian-based TrustDefender, a provider of secure browsing technology designed to stop man-in-the-browser attacks and provide malware protection.
Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
TrustDefender will take on the ThreatMetrix name. The new company will maintain its corporate headquarters in San Jose, Calif., with operations in the U.S., Australia and Europe.
After the acquisition, ThreatMetrix reorganized its Cybercrime Defender Platform to include three products: TrustDefender ID, a cloud-based, real-time device ID solution; TrustDefender Cloud, a cloud-based, real-time data protection solution; and TrustDefender Client, a client-based, real-time malware identification and secure online browsing solution.
