Following the 2007 registration of all Togolese voters via 3,000 biometric kits borrowed from the Congo, Togo’s Independent National Electoral Committee has decided to purchase 500 biometric kits of its own in order to keep registering newly of age citizens as well as updating the database. The new kits were purchased from Zetes, a biometric vendor, who developed and provided the same kits borrowed from the Congolese government.
