TranZfinity, an enabler of trusted transaction solutions, announced that Senthilkumren Kanagaratnam has joined the company as its Chief Technology Officer. Kanagaratnam, who will lead the technology development efforts for the Secure-Z platform and Secure-ME solutions, is based in San Jose, Calif.
Prior to joining TranZfinity, Kanagaratnam has managed engineering teams at companies such as Symbol, Motorola and Hypercom, where he was the vice president of technology architecture. At Symbol, he managed the technical marketing group for Symbol’s POS and Kiosk division, and was instrumental in growing the division’s revenue from $ 10 million to more than $35 million in one year. Most recently, Kanagaratnam served in an engineering leadership role at Yahoo, where he was responsible for managing advertising platforms. He holds a Bachelors degree in Computer Science from the University of London.
“Senthil brings significant experience in the areas of mobile applications, POS payment software, security, wireless solutions and scalable enterprise content management”, says Jeff Miles, TranZfinity’s CEO and president. “His background and unique experience will help us deliver solutions that accelerate the adoption of Near Field Communications (NFC) on a broader scale.”
Kanagaratnam and his team, which include Sridhar Gudihala, formerly a software engineer at ViVOtech, come to a team that has several years of experience in secure transaction and wireless solutions, including former executives from VeriFone.
