TruTouch Technologies, a developer of biometric-based intoxication detection systems, has announced the successful completion of human trials with its new finger-based system for alcohol intoxication detection. The device, called TruTouch 2000, was calibrated throughout the study by testing its results of 55 tested patients against those of the TruTouch Guardian forearm device, a standard breathalyzer and venous blood.
Unlike breath and blood tests, the TruTouch 2000 tests for intoxication levels via its infrared scanning system. Other aspects of the new system its developers are touting is its accurate results in under 15 seconds, built-in biometric scanner to authenticate a test-taker’s identity and it requires no user training, no disposable pieces, no samples and no operator assistance.
