New Jersey-based Seton Hall University accidentally sent out an email attached with a document containing the personal and education information of some 1,500 students, according to softpedia.com.
The document, which was sent to 400 unintended recipients, contained the names, addresses, emails, and student ID numbers, majors, credit hours and GPA of students identified as seniors.
The school has launched an investigation and sent an email, subject reading “Security Incident,” informing the 400 unintended recipients not to open or distribute the spreadsheet.
There are mixed emotions over the incident. Some upset, while others were less concerned claiming that there shouldn’t be any real threat as long as Social Security Numbers were not exposed.
