UPM Raflatac, a leading global manufacturer of RFID tags and inlays, has opened its new, $100 million plant in Dixon, Illinois, about 100 miles west of Chicago. The plant will produce pressure sensitive labelstock.
The Dixon plant is the second U.S. manufacturing presence for UPM Raflatac, and part of a nearly $270 million worldwide development program. The company also has an RFID tag and inlay plant in Fletcher, North Carolina.
“Our mission is to continuously develop our product offerings and service concepts and provide substantial value to our label printer customers. The Dixon factory is one of the key strategic investments we have made to increase our capabilities and build capacity in North America, Europe and the Asia-Pacific region,” said Heikki Pikkarainen, president of UPM Raflatac.
