Validity Sensors demonstrates screen-based fingerprint recognition at CES

San Jose-based Validity Sensors has developed fingerprint recognition technology that will function within a mobile device or tablet screen. It’s demonstration this technology, called Natural ID, at this week’s International Consumer Electronics Show, reports PC World.
Natural ID works through sensors that are located underneath the device’s glass display screen. These sensors can scan and verify fingerprints.
The company says several phone and tablet OEMs are interested in the technology, and it hopes to be able to get more interest from manufacturing partners.
Qualcomm and Intel are investors in Validity Sensors.
