Virtual student card pilot featuring NFC launches at French university
The “Nice Future Campus” project, an experimental program designed to apply the near field communication standard to the university campus of the future,was scheduled to launch among 100 students at the University of Nice in Sophia Antipolis.
Billed as the first virtual student card, the program will include a context-based location information service where students, by touching an NFC tagged target on campus, can view the route to his next lecture, find the location of a book in the library, etc.
Through an interactive shop window, this service also offers access to general information about the school.
