Zebra introduces iPhone app, releases SDK for custom apps

Zebra announced the release of its ZebraLink Utilities app for iPhone, iPad and iPod touch on the Apple AppStore.
The new ZebraLink utility will offer the ability to encode RFID tags, using a RFID-enabled Zebra printer, print multiple bar code types and receipts, and auto-generate variable data entry forms using templates created in the free ZebraDesigner label design software.
In addition, Zebra released a multi-platform software development kit, which developers can use to create customized applications that integrate printing to meet their respective needs.
The development kit includes source code samples, documentation and on-device demonstration modules for creating custom applications with embedded support for Zebra printers. Users have options including the ability to create applications to print a wide variety of content, including field service records, tracking tags, point-of-sale receipts, healthcare specimen labels and more.
The ZebraLink kit enables developers to create a print application on for the following Zebra printers: XiIIIPlus, Xi4, 105SL, ZM400/ZM600, S4M, PAX3, PAX4, G-Series, HC100, MZ-Series, QLPlus –Series, RW-Series, P4T and RP4T.
