Alclear acquires Verified Identity Pass

Wednesday, May 5, 2010

Alclear, LLC has announced that it has acquired the assets of Verified Identity Pass, a biometric systems developer, out of bankruptcy protection.

The acquisition includes Verified’s CLEAR system, a biometric system that worked in the Trusted Traveler program designed to ease security lines for regular, low-risk airport travelers, which Alclear plans to relaunch in the fall.

CLEAR works by offering users of the program a flat annual fee to join and use the system, which enables them to bypass security lines with the biometric authentication of their identity. [end]
