Google launches 4G version of Nexus S smart phone

Google has announced the launch of a new 4G version of its NFC-equipped Nexus S handset.
The upgraded Nexus, which still runs on the Android 2.3 “Gingerbread” OS, features an NFC chip that gives the handset full mobile wallet functionality. According to Mobiledia, Google will use the new Nexus in its upcoming NFC payments trial in New York and San Francisco.
The new handset also features a 4.0-inch Super AMOLED touch screen display, 1GHz Hummingbird CPU, 5.0-megapixel camera and front-facing VGA lens for video calls.
The Nexus S 4G will be available to Sprint customers this spring at an estimated cost of $200.
