Samsung has introduced a new line NFC tags that users can program to perform ordinary tasks on their mobile phone.
Samsung’s TecTile tags, along with their corresponding TecTile mobile app, can be used to launch a particular mobile app, set an alarm, turn on/off Bluetooth or WiFi, make a call, update a Facebook status and more – all with a single tap of an NFC-enabled phone.
To use TecTiles, a user must first download and install the TecTiles mobile app on your NFC-enabled Android mobile device. From the app, you enter what actions you want your TecTile tag to perform, and then simply tap the blank tag to the phone to write the action on the tag.
TecTiles are now available on Samsung’s Website in packages of 5 for $14.99, or can be found in various mobile phone stores.
