RF Technologies announces Smart Sense for infant security
RF Technologies, a provider of RFID monitoring systems and health care security solutions, announced its new Smart Sense transmitter and banding technology designed to offer improved tamper detection.
The new transmitter will support RF Technologies Safe Place Infant and Pediatric Security Solution, which utilizes radio frequency technology to help prevent both infant abductions and unauthorized exits from emergency rooms, as well as provide quick assistance to staff that may be under duress.
The soft, stretchy band fits around the newborn’s ankle to accommodate weight loss or gain, keeping the transmitter in place and the infant secure. It utilizes multiple measurements to ensure infant protection, and alerts staff if a band is loose, tampered with or has been removed from the infant.
The Smart Sense transmitter will be on display at the 2010 Association of Women’s Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses (AWHONN) annual convention. The conference will be taking place at The Venetian in Las Vegas from September 25-29.
