XDA-Developers, an online community of Android and Windows Phone enthusiasts and developers, has uncovered a way to get Google Wallet on Google’s new Galaxy Nexus handset – no hacking required, according to the International Business Times.
The handset debuted last week on the Verizon network without the Google Wallet mobile payments app, prompting hackers to take to the Net with a wave of codes and instructions – most of which are either incorrect or too complicated for the average user to follow, says IBTimes.
Now XDA-Developers members have come up with a solution that requires the user to simply download and install the “Google Wallet APK” app.
Before downloading the APK, users must first ensure that their Galaxy Nexus is set up to enable apps from outside sources. This is done by checking the “unkown sources” box under applications, reports IBTimes. Owners must also have a file explorer (“And Explorer” for example) to located the app after it’s downloaded.
Once downloaded and located, the app can be put in any directory on the phone for full installation.
