Google has announced on its blog that app developers may now leverage Google IDs for sign-in, eliminating the need to create additional accounts and remember more usernames and passwords. This shared ID can be used in apps for Android, iOS or the Web.
Google users will be able to adjust the permissions on their account to enable data sharing with third-party apps. Users will be able to take advantage of two-step verification for security, and they can also manage apps they’re signed into through their Google account. The system will also enable users to easily install apps on their mobile devices from a web browser.
Google sign-in also has factors that lend to more interactivity and greater user control over sharing items.
