Biometrics are fundamental to securing physical and digital identities in a modern society. The advancements made by the dedicated individuals leading this field are helping keep our cities and citizens, our companies and employees and our schools and children safe. In 2015 the inaugural Women in Biometrics Awards were launched to recognize innovative women dedicated to creating a more secure world by guiding this crucial technology market.
The contributions meriting nomination are diverse, but could include:
- Substantive and defining leadership in academic, public awareness, legislative or standards efforts
- Corporate leadership that extends beyond the company walls and into the larger identity sphere
- Pioneering biometrics product development, innovation or corporate start-up efforts
- Industry involvement sharing expertise and mentoring peers, thus growing the market
Nominations are open and will be accepted through Oct. 15. Nominees may include those working for biometrics companies, peripheral suppliers, system integrators, academia, government and end user organizations.
The 2016 awards will be presented on Wednesday, Nov. 16 in Manhattan in conjunction with the ISC East event. During the Security Industry Association’s “Honors Night: Celebrating Performance, Partnerships and People in the Security Industry,” winners will be honored along with other distinguished security industry award recipients.
