“Lock down your login” is part of President Obama’s Cybersecurity National Action Plan and also kicking off National Cyber Security Awareness Month. The goal is to encourage Americans to move beyond user names and passwords and use two-factor authentication for cybersecurity when it’s available.

The White House, the National Cyber Security Alliance (NCSA) and more than 35 companies have launched a campaign to encourage individuals to move beyond user names and passwords. “Lock Down Your Login,” is designed to empower Americans to better protect their online accounts and move beyond usernames and passwords and adopt strong authentication for online accounts.
