Swedish company Cale Parking Systems is testing an NFC-enabled parking system in Poland based on MIFARE that will include readers, cards and charging stations. The Cale MIFARE system’s pilot project involves two Web terminals accepting contactless payment, one for parking and another for public transport, buses and trams.
The terminals complement the larger standard ticketing machines and can be solar driven, meaning lower operating costs. The special MIFARE card being used is a multiapplication card where the customer can pay for public transport as well as for parking.
