After six months of internal testing, Cloudkick Web application has chosen Yubico’s USB-key multi-factor authentication product as an option for customer login. The YubiKey aims to add another layer of security for customers managing their cloud servers.
This service will be implemented into the Cloudkick Web site and therefore not require any software in addition to the YubiKey device.
Cloudkick already offers performance trending and fault-detection that work across numerous cloud providers such as Amazon EC2, Rackspace and GoGrid, into one unified Web-based dashboard, however the decision to adopt YubiKey technology came from a need to enhance the security of the system. By supplementing the standard username and password with a second authentication solution.
The YubiKey technology is being utilized by companies around the world and has offices in Stockholm, London and California.
