As part of the Cameroon Government’s identity solutions road map, De La Rue Identity Systems announced plans for the roll out of nearly 500K Cameroon e-passports over the next three years.
De La Rue will launch the new and International Civil Aviation Organization compliant e-passport, as well as upgrade Cameroon to document management and issuance systems powered by its MIDIS technology.
The solution will also consist of De La Rue’s SIP 500e automated personalization system for chip encoding, data-page printing and the application of secure thin film laminate design to protect personal details from being altered, counterfeit or used for fraud.
To ensure migration from the machine readable passports to the new e-passport is carried out with minimal risk or disruption to the Cameroon Government or its citizens, De La Rue will also provide the necessary training to locally employed system operators.
