EBF launches 2010 European Biometric Award

The European Biometrics Forum (EBF), a non-profit group that works to initiate, facilitate and organize activities intended to further the development and use of biometrics, has announced the launch of the European Biometric Research Award 2010.
The annual award is given to senior PhD student who has made significant strides in the field of biometric technology research based on the judgment of a panel of industry experts from both the public and private sectors.
Application submissions for the award require a research paper and accompanying presentation by the student applying with the focus of the subject matter being biometrics. The winning submissions will be judged in two groups with one judging the academic and scientific value, which the winner is awarded a medal and 2000 euros, and the other judging the business potential of the research’s yield, in which the winner will be awarded a certificate and 750 euros.
