FirstGroup, a UK bus and rail operator, is moving forward with its planned introduction of a smart card ticket system in the town of Bristol, according to a local news brief.
The new technology will offer customers touch-in and touch-out contactless payment using their contactless bank cards.
This will reduce cash transactions and boarding times, while also offering passengers a wider range of ticket products including the ability to cap daily and weekly fares.
The equipment also has the capability to accept payment via mobile phone.
