Futronic Technology Company Limited, a developer of fingerprint authentication products, has announced the release of their new fingerprint scanner that can utilize two fingerprints at once. The new system is also being touted as a rugged solution due to its anti-scratch scanning surface and ability to handle poor samples due to wet, dry, blurred or scarred samples.
Due to its capabilities and USB connectivity, Futronic is hopeful that the new scanner, called FS50, will be a viable solution for various government programs such as those run for border control or national ID programs. The FS50 is compatible with Windows versions XP through 7 and Linux with kernel 2.4 or higher.
