GAO release duo of RFID readers

GAO continues to celebrate the New Year with the release of a two new RFID readers, a portable high frequency dual reading reader and a pocket size USB reader with omni-directional antenna.
The portable, model 223003, features an integrated Unitech RH767 rugged mobile computer, offering a large color backlit LCD touch panel and operating at 13.56 MHz with ISO15693 and ISO 14443A/B compliance. The portable RFID reader/writer offers reading distances of up to 13 cm and has battery life of 20 hours on a single charge.
The model 223003 sports both SDRAM and Flash ROM, each with a memory capacity of 64MB that allow an abundant amount information input and processing. It is designed for applications that include access control, asset tracking, warehouse management and livestock tagging, and seems well-suited for health care applications in hospitals and nursing homes.
To compliment this release, GAO also announced the released a pocketsize active RFID USB reader, model 217003, designed for locating personnel, logistics, warehouse management, closed loop asset tracking and high value asset tracking. Operating in the unlicensed 2.45GHz frequency, the 223003 is capable of being used worldwide, with a built-in omni-directional antenna with a range of 15 to 20 meters while reading 100 tags per second with high reliability.
