GAO unveiled a new ultra high frequency Gen 2 soft tag capable of enduring the harsh laundry industries, including dry cleaners and hot rotary irons.
Operating at frequencies of 902 MHz to 928 MHz (USA) and 865 MHz to 868 MHz (EU), the tag is resistant to high temperatures and harsh conditions that are commonly present in various cleaning industries.
The tag, model 116418, survives 12 to 15 seconds under 205° C, typical temperatures reached in standard heat-sealing machines. Finished with a flexible textile and transponder chip that is compliant with the international ISO 18000-6C standard, the tag is very thin compared to a standard label and can be easily fixed onto any fabric.
Its reading distance is up to 2 meters under dry conditions or 5 meters in wet environments. This soft tag supports an average 80 washing cycles at maximum and also supports bulk reading. Its 96bit EPC memory allows it to store additional information other than ID.
