i-Evo, a provider of biometric technology, has announced it will be demonstrating multispectral fingerprint technology from Lumidigm to show how new fingerprint technology developments can bring the biometric mode into environments it was previously unable.
Specifically, i-Evo will be showing how the Lumidigm technology is capable of authenticating identities via fingerprints through latex gloves or under water.
The reason Lumidigm’s multispectral fingerprint scanners are capable of this is due to the technology capturing fingerprint data contactless from beneath the surface of the finger rather than requiring contact and collecting the data from the surface.
I-Evo expects the implications of this demonstration to prove the viability of bringing fingerprint-based authentication to industries such as health care and construction.
