I Love Velvet has unveiled its new “Universal Holster” add-on device for accepting payments on Apple iPods, iPads and iPhones.
The Apple-certified U-Holster can accept payments from contactless devices such as payment cards and NFC-enabled phones, as well as scan bar codes on coupons, loyalty cards, U.S. driver’s licenses, ID cards and smart phones in less than a second.
According to Velvet, the U-Holster is designed to evolve with the next generation of Apple products, but may also work with Android and Windows 7 products.
“We’re in the final stages of certification for PCI, PTS, EMV1 and EMV2 for authenticating credit and debit transactions that go directly to the bank in a fully secure network,” said Patrick Bouaziz, co-founder of I Love Velvet. “The next step in mobility as it applies to the retail and hospitality industries is here.”
