I.T.’S International Co., a consortium of Japanese apparel and textile companies, has implemented RFID technology into its daily operations.
The solution, which utilizes UPM Raflatac ShortDiple RFID tags, has been implemented in all phases of the supply chain, including production, distribution and retail stores, for all parties of the consortium.
At the store level, RFID technology saves time, as information processing for incoming goods no longer requires manual, item-by-item inspection. Check-out is also easier as clerks can now scan all products for payment simultaneously, leaving more time to focus on customer service.
Inventory data transfers between stores are also subsequently easier and faster, as they can be done in real-time by utilizing the RFID technology.
