The Kenyan Ministry of State for Immigration and Registration of Persons of Kenya will be implementing biometric identification and verification, as well as a biometric portal for users of its Integrated Population Registration System (IPRS).
The IPRS and portal utilize software developed by EDAPS.com. The ministry intends for biometrics to help fight crime, terrorism and human trafficking. The system will also facilitate citizen registration and document issuance and enhance the delivery of public services. The ministry also hopes to use the system to track population data and composition.
When the system is in place, the hope is that citizens will be able to register and access services more easily and safely and government agencies will also be able to speed up processing times for activities.
