L-1 Identity Solutions, a developer of biometric products, has announced that its iris recognition technology will be used in part of the world’s largest iris-based identity management project set in India. The L-1 technology being deployed is its SIRIS biometric matching engine.
L-1’s engine will be used to make sure there aren’t duplicate records stored on multiple databases across India. The national ID system will be used to properly disperse goods and services across the country while also making it easier for those in lower income areas of the country to receive government benefits without issues revolving around proper identification.
