Liberty PlugIns (LPI), a developer of secure access technologies for electric vehicle (EV) charging stations, has announced the successfully integration of HID Global’s iCLASS 13.56 MHz contactless smart card technology into its Synchronous Codes Generation product line.
LPI’s Synchronous Codes products enable parking pay systems to perform the billing portion of an EV charging transaction. By combining HID Global’s smart card technology with LPI’s Synchronous Codes solution, parking lot owners and operators are now able to add EV charging stations to their existing access and revenue control systems that will support both long term tenants and one-time customers.
LPI’s Synchronous Codes generation cards enable parking pay stations and ticket dispensers to issue EV charging authorization codes to visitors who wish to charge their electric vehicles while parking. Adding HID iCLASS smart card technology also allows tenants to access the parking lot using the same card. According to LPI, this approach also protects the lot owner from unauthorized use of the charger while reducing their overall associated costs.
Additionally, Liberty PlugIns has joined the Advantage HID Connect Partner Program, HID’s program designed to help developer partners generate new business and revenue for their HID technology-enabled products.
