UK roadside restaurant chain Little Chef has announced the deployment Barclaycard’s contactless payment technology at all 173 of its locations.
The rollout, which will enable customers to pay for the check with a tap of their credit or debit cards, also includes Little Chef’s Coffee Tempo brand and Burger King franchises.
Although Barclaycard has already successfully implemented contactless payment in establishments such as EAT and Subway, the company says Little Chef is the first UK restaurant group to “fully” embrace contactless.
The system is live now and will be promoted to customers with a full range of Point of Sale material in all restaurants. The restaurant chain has opted for Barclaycard’s own technology and had new machines installed to support this where required.
