Mobile contactless debit payments go on trial in Italy

Italian bank Credito Valtellinese will be piloting the first European trial of Visa’s V Pay contactless debit product on Nokia phones. Fifty of the bank’s employees are scheduled to take part in the experiment that will enable payments of about $22 using the phone equipped with the Tellcard Mobile V Pay.
The employees will be able to make purchases at some 180 locations in several cities in Northern Italy.
