MTI Wireless Edge Takes it Wider

This week, there was lots to see in Dallas – like compact tags and tiny, unintrusive RFID-infused parts.
Lots of big news, too. Big parts, even bigger ranges. Like MTI Wireless Edge’s RFID new widebeam RFID reader antenna range. The company (headquartered in Tel Aviv) showcased six new circular polarized antennas available for a number of RFID UHF bandwidths.
The difference, according to MTI, is this: Normally when using mono static reader antennas, current portal coverage is achieved by using two antenna pairs (a pair at each side) and switching between them for the upper and lower beams. Now using a single MTI wide beam antenna on each side of the portal results in a constant reading state and eliminates the need to switch between upper and lower antennas.

TEL AVIV, Israel–(BUSINESS WIRE)–MTI Wireless Edge today announced that their new wide beam RFID reader antenna range will be on show at MTI booth 1811, RFID World 2007, Gaylord Texan Resort, Dallas, Texas from March 26, to March 28, 2007.
MTI Wireless Edge, a leader in the development production and marketing of high quality, cost effective, flat panel antennas for RFID applications now adds six new wide beam RFID reader antennas to their large portfolio of high performance and cost competitive RFID antennas. This new family of circular polarized antennas is the BEST Portal and gate control antenna available in the market today. They are available for various RFID UHF bandwidths including:
- MT-242033 (RH or LH) 150ºx50º, 865 -870 MHz
- MT-242034 (RH or LH) 120ºx30º, 865 -870 MHz
- MT-243017(RH or LH) 60ºx30º, 865 -870 MHz
- MT-262014 (RH or LH) 150ºx50º, 902 -928 MHz
- MT-263020 (RH or LH) 60ºx30º, 902 -928 MHz
- MT-263025 (RH or LH) 60ºx30º, 950 -956 MHz
Normally when using mono static reader antennas, current portal coverage is achieved by using 2 antenna pairs (a pair at each side) and switching between them for the upper and lower beams. Now using a single MTI wide beam antenna on each side of the portal results in a constant reading state and eliminates the need to switch between upper and lower antennas. The antenna axial ratio is measured across the beam widths and not only in the bore-sight. This enables RFID integrators and system providers, using MTI’s new wide beam antenna family, to deliver superior portal coverage.
“This new Wide Beam antenna family addition to our over 100 RFID antenna models range, positions MTI as the leading industry RFID antenna company and establishes MTI as the RFID antenna one-stop-shop,” said Dov Feiner, CEO & President, MTI Wireless Edge Ltd.
