To avoid the unnecessary embarrassment of getting your credit card declined, the Card 2.0 from Dynamics has created a solution to back you up as a customer making a purchase, according to Gizmodo.com.
This feature enables customers to put two different accounts on the same physical card and programmed on the same magnetic strip.
The technology was introduced to the market utilizing MultiAccount and Hidden. MultiAccount includes two buttons on the face of a card revealing one of the two account numbers. Once a selection is made the card indicates the selection by turning on the light source associated with the selected account. Immediately the magnetic-stripe information paired with that account is written into the Electronic Stripe.
Hidden functions include hiding the number on the front of your card by protecting it with a PIN number. To turn the device ON, a user must enter the PIN into the card.
This new technology opens the doors for issuers to offer cards for specific needs. For instance, an issuer may introduce a fraud-reduction card that attracts a security-conscious consumer, an enhanced loyalty card to attract an affinity-oriented consumer, or a money management card to attract a consumer that keeps a tight budget.
