Olympics tickets to double as transport tickets, cash?

One ticket for getting into the Olympics, for transportation, for identification and even for payment may make its appearance at the 2012 Olympics scheduled for London.
Research into a cashless Olympics incorporating ticketing, ID authentication and transport is currently being conducted by the Parliamentary Office of Science and Technology, an independent body that advises Parliament on science and technology issues. The office is to publish a report in July called Technology for the Olympics.
“I think that we have the opportunity to do something special. I hope that what this report does is to enthuse people to think in those terms,” said one official.
